I have a huuuuuge favor to ask of you guys.  I'm asking that you sign this petition for my friend's family.  It's not a scam or a hoax or anything--I've actually met the kid that this is for (and what a sweetheart!).  I volunteered at camp with Zach Grys, and this is his adopted brother.  The family has made such an impact on the lives of so many (his parents have been foster parents to over 250 kids).  

This petition is for Extreme Home Makeover--they want to renovate the Grys house so that Jake can get around without "breaking himself" as he calls it (he has brittle bones and breaks them on a regular basis).

Please please please do this.  The family really is deserving.

Earlier in the semester, a classmate of mine passed away as a complication of knee/leg surgery.  It broke my heart and the France trip wasn't the same without her.

Tonight I found out a camper, one of the sweetest kids I've ever met, passed away yesterday.  It hasn't fully hit me yet, but I imagine I'll get the full brunt of it when camp finally comes around this summer.

I feel like now I'm just waiting for the next person around me to pass away.  Deaths come in threes, right?

in less than 24 hours i'll be on my way to france!!!! ah! can't wait!!!!

i have officially (and successfully!!!) just finished my first shift at the lafayette crisis center!!  first time answering the phones myself, talking to REAL PEOPLE...it's nerve-wracking and exhilerating at the same time.

my next shift is tuesday night...i have mixed feelings about it, but i'm really excited.
